The Black Hand Ranks

Given that we can not make custom titles in game, we've broken down the ranks here, so that everyone knows what they mean. We've also provided some guidelines for each rank and our members. All ranks should have read the Charter and Policies at least once, posted that they have read them and registered at the website. All players in the Black Hand should conduct themselves in accordance with our Chater and Policies at all times. It should also be noted again that ALL members can recruit new players. Whether an invite is given is at the discretion of higher ranking members (see below). Everyone, at all times, should show respect to all players regardless of rank/title/position/privelage.

Conscipts (Cons):
New Recruits: New recruits should read the Charter/Policies during their probation and ask any questions they may have. They should also register at the website. It would be great if the new recruits can be on ventrilo as it's our main source of communication. Once through their probation period, they can be promoted to full time members.

Chiliostys (Chilies):
Alts: We've reserved this rank for the various alts that players want to make. These characters are still considered full time members, but for organization we've placed alts here. If a player wishes to change mains, we can promote an alt to full membership, and demote the previous main down to this rank.

Phalanx:
Full Tme Members: This is our general guild population and where most players will be ranked. While promotions to higher ranks may or may not be possible, they are still valued members of our guild and greatly appreciated. They should continue to be soul of our guild and be the quality players and people we've recruited. They should also be a positive respresentation of the guild ideals set forth in our charter and polcies. If we've promoted you to this rank, then you are The Black Hand.

Hyparchos (Hypers):
Guild Inviters: These players are not officers, but more like senior members that have been given the privelage to do guild invites when an officer/leader is not available. This position does not convey any special rights, you are still a regular full time member with the extra ability to help the guild leadership to invite new recruits or for alts of current members. You can invite recruits from other members. People in this position can be demoted if things are not working out or we find the quality of the recruits to be below our standards. It's not a negative reflection on those players, it just means they need more time to get to know what we're all about, and may be granted an opportunity to become guild inviters again.

Special Considerations For This Rank:
You must be intimately familiar with the Charter and Policies.
You can not/will not actively recruit players under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
Your attitude when talking with or in front of the general guild population will not be negative in any fashion.
You are responsiblefor providing information relating the guild as set forth in our Charter and Policies.
You will provide the website (as per our recruitment policy) when talking with a recruit.
You will provide ventrilo information (as per our recruitment policy) when an invite is given to a new recruit.
**Immediately after an invite is given, you must post on the boards the new recruits name and the date you invited -OR- the alts name and associated main. It is essential to maintain this communication. It's pretty embarassing to not know if someone is an alt or a new recruit.**

Taxiarchos (Taxis):
Officers: Along with leaders, they run the guild in a council arrangement. They're opinions and words carry the same weight as in game leaders. You will follow up with new recruits for a little "meet and greet," when time presents itself. All officers should maintain unbiased and open mindset when dealing with any issues that may arise. They will not be negative infront of the general guild population. Nor will they discuss guild/player issues infront of/or with the general guild population unless it's determined by the ruling council to be an open debate/discussion. Important to note that at this time, for our own reasons, we've limited the number of officers to the few we have now. If the need arises we can add more. This is not a knock against anyone for any reason so please don't feel slighted for not being promoted into this rank.

Strategos:
Guild Leaders: They're essenetially our in game administrators. This rank carries the same duties as the officer rank as part of the governing council. They'll adhere to the same conduct presented above for officers. In addition they'll handle any in game adminstration as decided by the coucil. Should a guild leader leave the game or have an extended leave of abscence, a predetermined officer will be promoted to leader to assist with in game adminstration.

Disclaimers:
Much like every other document you've read, we reserve the right to change/modify the ranks as we see fit.
These ranks mean very little. They're used for organization purposes and to help designate who's responsible for the running of the guild.
Just because you've been promoted it does not mean we can not demote you or remove you from the guild.

Unity in Excellance
