To view the forums in a fashion that is much like standard forums, click on classic mode. This will make the thread tags function somewhat like a normal forum system, with the tags being equivalent to subforums.
To make a post, search for the big letters that say Post a Thread. From there you select the primary thread tag (subforum).
To send a PM, check the private thread box at the top of the thread posting window, and select applicable members.
Overall the system is kind of obtuse and irritating to figure out, but the other integrated features of the site make it worth it. For example, instead of posting guides in a forum, this allows you to create guides that can be edited in a "wiki" fashion. Idk! Happy (lol) posting.
